Laporan Kasus: Frenektomi Labial dengan Teknik Klasik pada Pasien dengan Diastema Insisif

Latar belakang. Frenulum yang terlalu rendah dapat menyebabkan diastema dan resesi gingiva yang berpengaruh pada estetik dan fungsi rongga mulut pasien. Frenulum rendah hingga menyebabkan diastema akan memudahkan penumpukan plak dan kalkulus sehingga memperbesar resiko penyakit periodontal. Salah satu tindakan yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi kondisi tersebut adalah dengan frenektomi.Tujuan. Frenektomi adalah tindakan bedah, dengan memotong frenulum serta ligamen dan kalau diperlukan mengikis tulang dibawahnya.Kasus dan Penatalaksanaan. Seorang wanita berusia 35 tahun datang ke Departemen Periodonsia RSGM FKG Universitas Padjadjaran dengan keluhan kedua gigi depan atas semakin berjarak. Pada pemeriksaan klinis ditemukan gambaran insisif sentral yang diastema. Setelah selesai tahapan fase inisial, pasien dievaluasi dan direncanakan untuk dilakukan frenektomi. Kemudian pasien akan dievaluasi satu minggu dan satu bulan paska bedah.Diskusi. Frenektomi yang dilakukan memiliki beberapa teknik tergantung luas dan lebarnya frenulum yang patologis. Diantaranya teknik konvensional, Z-plasty, VY-plasty, dan teknik menggunkan electrosurgery ataupun laser.Kesimpulan. Frenektomi merupakan tindakan bedah yang dilakukan untuk mengambil frenulum yang bersifat patologis, yaitu yang menyebabkan diastema gigi, mengganggu retensi dan stabilisasi gigi tiruan, dan mengganggu estetik.Referensi
