Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

B-Dent: Jurnal Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Baiturrahmah is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal in dentistry, published twice a year (in June and December) by Universitas Baiturrahmah. The journal is dedicated to advancing dental science and practice by publishing original high-quality research.

Publication Ethics and Originality

B-Dent is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. We only consider original manuscripts that have not been published previously, in any language, and are not under concurrent consideration by any other publication.

  • Originality: Submissions must represent original work. Plagiarism, duplicate publication, or data fabrication in any form is unacceptable.

  • Conference Proceedings: Manuscripts that have been previously presented at a scientific conference must be disclosed during submission via a footnote on the title page, indicating the name, date, and location of the event.

  • Sanctions: In cases where an article is found to have been published elsewhere, B-Dent reserves the right to retract the article and impose sanctions on the author(s) in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. All legal responsibilities reside solely with the author(s).

Scope and Manuscript Types

B-Dent welcomes submissions within the field of dentistry, specifically in the following categories:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Case Reports

  • Review Articles

All accepted manuscripts will be published online via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

 

B-Dent: Jurnal Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Baiturrahmah (JBD) applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support sustainable publishing and open access dissemination. The total APC is IDR 800,000, structured as follows:
- Submission Fee: 500,000 IDR (at manuscript submission; administrative and initial manuscript handling fee
- Publication fee: 300,000 IDR (after the manuscript is accepted; production, layout, and publication fee)

Copyright Notice

Authors retain the copyright of their published work and grant the journal the right of first publication. The work is simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), which allows others to share and adapt the work with appropriate credit and the same license terms. Authors are also required to sign a copyright transfer agreement upon acceptance.
