Penggunaan Vitamin D di Bidang Dermatologi

Abstract


Vitamin D adalah vitamin yang larut di dalam lemak yang tersedia dalam 2 bentuk: ergocalciferol (vitamin D2) dan cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). Terdapat dua sumber utama vitamin D yaitu Ultraviolet B yang merupakan sumber utama vitamin D dan makanan seperti cod liver oil, yogurt, susu dan lain-lain. Kulit merupakan tempat sintesis vitamin D dan merupakan organ target dari bentuk aktif vitamin D. Vitamin D di kulit memiliki berbagai macam fungsi seperti diferensiasi dan proliferasi keratinosit, berperan pada proses imunologis, pertumbuhan rambut dan  melanosit. Pada beberapa keadaan seperti dermatitis atopik, psoriasis, kanker kulit, vitiligo, akne vulgaris, dan alopesia areata ditemukan kadar vitamin D yang rendah. Kadar Vitamin D yang rendah ini dapat menjadi faktor risiko penyakit tersebut sehingga diharapkan pemberian vitamin D dapat menjadi terapi tambahan bagi berbagai penyakit kulit
