PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN KESEHATAN GIGI DAN MULUT SISWA/SISWI SD NEGERI 36 GUNUNG SARIK KECAMATAN KURANJI KOTA PADANG
Abstrak
Dental and oral health issues still require attention from manyparties, including educational institutions. Community serviceactivities can contribute positively to helping address this issue. Thiscommunity service activity aims to increase the knowledge andawareness of first-grade students at SD Negeri 36 Gunung Sarik,Padang City, regarding the importance of maintaining dental andoral health. Implementation methods include educational counseling,proper tooth-brushing simulations, and oral screening using theDMF-T and PUFA indices.. The results of the activity showed highenthusiasm from the participants, increased understanding of the riskfactors for cavities, and a positive response to the interactivecounseling method. The average DMF-T score of 4.3 indicates amoderate dental health status, while the average PUFA score is 0.56and the average quality of life from the COHIP questionnaire isincluded in the Good category, which is 70%. The COHIP evaluationalso reflects the level of student satisfaction and comfort with theiroral health conditions. This activity is expected to be a sustainableprogram in the promotion and prevention of children's dental health,as well as strengthening the role of educational institutions in forminghealthy living behaviors from an early age.Keywords: oral and dental health, counseling, elementary schoolstudents, DMF-T, PUFA, COHIP
