PENINGKATAN PENGETAHUAN KESEHATAN GIGI DAN MULUT PADA ANAK USIA DINI DI TK PRIME KIDS PADANG

Abstract

Introduction: The general health of the body includes oral health. Oral health issues in preschoolers are a significant concern because they can lead to infections in other parts of the body in addition to pain complaints. This illness will undoubtedly cause youngsters to miss school less frequently, disrupt their ability to focus during class, and alter their appetite and food intake, all of which can have an impact on their nutritional status and, in the end, stunt their physical development. The best time to practise a child's motor skills, such as brushing their teeth, is while they are too young for primary school. Objective: to improve pre-school children's knowledge about proper tooth brushing. Methods: This community service was carried out by providing counselling in the form of counselling on maintaining oral hygiene using dental phantom media and animated videos, and continued with good and correct tooth brushing practices. Results: In preschool children at TK PRIME KIDS Padang, it shows that there is an increase in knowledge and skills of preschool children about the practice of brushing teeth and mouth properly and correctly as a form of effort to prevent cavities in preschool children.
