Abstract

Abstract

Based on the regional health research data of West Sumatra province, the prevalence of caries in Padang city reached 36.71%. The average value of the DMF-T Index in Indonesia is 4.6, while West Sumatra province is above the national average of 4.7 and is included in the high category. The DMF-T index is an index for assessing oral health status using caries indicators on permanent teeth. Various oral health service programmes continue to be improved to reduce dental and oral problems, especially dental caries. The implementation of oral health service programmes is not only carried out by the government but also by the private sector and other related institutions. Baiturrahmah Padang Teaching Dental and Oral Hospital in commemoration of the National Dental Health Month (BKGN) in collaboration with PT Unilever organised dental and oral health examination and treatment activities in West Sumatra. One of the activities carried out at SMF Conservation is a dental examination for all levels of society in West Sumatra, especially Padang City. The annual National Dental Health Month (BKGN) is one of the cross-sector social responsibility activities that has many positive impacts, especially in improving the degree of oral health.
